Is someone else’s addiction affecting you? Family Allies is a Winnipeg-based group for family members affected by a loved one’s addiction.
Watching someone you love struggle with substance use can be incredibly taxing. You often feel isolated while navigating these complex emotions alone. Many find that family support groups for addictions offer a safe space to share experiences and gain strength.
This program will assist family members in understanding the process of recovery and enhancing family function. Participants will be offered resources to support their loved one while also prioritizing their own self-care and boundaries. Participants will learn to identify the dynamics and roles within a family system affected by addiction and examine the effects of shame on the family system. The family program offers individual counselling, an eight-week family education group and eight-week support group.
